Here are just a few things in Chad’s Pile that you will hear on Lubbock’s First News this morning. Give Chad your feedback on the steaming topics.

1. Perry is in (link)

We all knew it was going to happen and on Saturday, Governor Rick Perry made it official. Rick Perry is running for President. This is sure to shake up the GOP race and I now believe that Mitt Romney and Rick Perry are the two top candidates right now. If you heard Perry's speech, what did you think? One of my favorite lines from his speech was,

And I’ll promise you this: I’ll work every day to make Washington, D.C. as inconsequential in your life as I can. And at the same time, we’ll be freeing our families and small businesses and states from the burdensome and costly federal government so those groups can create, innovate and succeed.

Fantastic!

2. Bachmann wins! (link)

Michele Bachmann won the Iowa Straw Poll, but does anyone care? Seriously, she must hate Rick Perry right now. Perry announces his candidacy and steals all of her thunder. In other news, Ron Paul finished second (who cares) and Tim Pawlenty finished third. I have to give Pawlenty some credit, he might have had one the best lines yesterday when he said this;

"We know what America needs. But unfortunately Barack Obama has no clue. He's like a manure spreader in a windstorm,"

Ha!

3. So maybe it is about race after all. (link)

It's good to see that people are starting to feel comfortable calling these "flash mob" attacks racist attacks. Here is the latest from WLS:

The investigation into 11 of the violent incidents on the opening night of the Wisconsin State Fair has resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old African-American who reportedly told investigators he targeted whites.Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was asked on WLS Radio’s Roe and Roeper Show Friday if he thought the crimes warranted hate crime status, “I think it is absolutely outrageous, it is a hate crime, and I would imagine the prosecutor will be very aggressive on this. There is no tolerance whether it’s white on black or black on white, there shouldn’t be any tolerance in general for that kind of problems.”

and...

Police say the teen told investigators whites were chosen because he considered them "easy targets."

Scum.
