On Thursday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show District 19 Representative Jodey Arrington joined the show to discuss several issues in the news.

Arrington and Hasty talked about broadband internet access for rural areas, the possibility of food stamp proposals affecting the new farm bill, and yesterday's protests and school walk-outs over school security and the Second Amendment.

About the food stamp proposals and welfare in general, Arrington said,

The incentives keep people trapped in a cycle of poverty and dependency...We need to make sure that we have a safety net, not a hammock, so that people don't make a lifestyle out of [welfare].
