On Friday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Bob Matson and Michael Martin Melendrez from Soil Secrets of Texas talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about a revolutionary new agricultural product.
Lubbock County USDA Farm Service Agency Director Cary Hanlin reminds farmers and ranchers to nominate candidates to serve on their local FSA County committee by the August 1, 2012 deadline.
“You know, agriculture is big business," Neugebauer said.
The committee approved three amendments proposed by Neugebauer.
What basically we’re going to see in this farm bill is a farm bill that provides a safety net, and the producers have skin in the game.
“Basically what it means is we are going to be dealing with a little bit less money than we did in the previous farm bill."
When asked about his field Jason Woodward said, “I enjoy working in peanuts.”
“I believe this bill would enhance the current crop insurance program for farmers as they face weather risks,” Neugebauer said.
