A Texas Tech baseball player has been named among the top 100 in a preseason list.

Senior right-handed pitcher John Neely has been ranked 88th in the nation by College Baseball Daily, in their 2012 Top 100 Players Preseason List.

Neely was also named to a pair of All-America teams by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and CollegeBaseballInsider.com last season as well.

He made 30 appearances on the season, trying for second on Tech’s all-time single-season appearances list.

Last season, Neely led Texas Tech on the mound with a 9-1 record, 2.97 ERA. He had 7 saves, 60.2 innings pitched, 56 strikeouts, and allowed 21 walks without giving up a home run all season.
