Paving Operations Begin On Some Lubbock Roads

The Texas Department of Transportation has begun paving operations on some Lubbock-area roads.

TxDOT began work at the US 84 (Avenue Q) and University Avenue intersection Monday morning, and other projects will soon follow.

Other areas to be milled and resurfaced are Farm-to-Market Road 1585 and University Avenue and Loop 289 and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The paving operations at each location are expected to take up to a week to complete, and motorists can expect daily lane closures, possible overnight lane closures, and traffic delays.

The project cost is $615,000, and the contractor is J. Lee Milligan Inc. of Amarillo.
