Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope joined Chad in the KFYO studio to discuss the Mayor's run for reelection as well as many issues facing the city. The two discussed several topics, including the city's spending and debt, Citizen's Tower, police substations, Lubbock streets and airport, the possibility of a new smoking ban row taking place in the city, and the future of Lubbock's aging Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum.

About the continued cost of maintaining the auditorium and coliseum, Pope said,

Personally I think their better days are behind them. They cost us about three-quarters of a million dollars a year to operate. That's a net loss on an annual basis.
