On Monday's Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about events and politics in the nation's news.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the upcoming Republican convention, and Donald Trump's Vice President choices, including Indiana Governor Mike Pence, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and retired General Michael Flynn.

Hasty asked Mackowiak if he believes that Trump choosing Governor Pence as a running mate would help smooth relations between Trump and conservatives within the Republican party. Mackowiak replied,

I think it will help a lot. I think it will be a very, very popular choice at the convention and up on Capitol Hill.

Also discussed was the "Dump-Trump" movement, and how that might affect the convention, as well as the very serious burn injuries recently suffered by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
