Monday on the Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak offered his thoughts on the 2014 Primary Election.

Mackowiak does not believe any of the last minute candidates who filed for the 2014 primary election will change the game. He noted that among Republicans, it is difficult to know what will happen among candidates. Since Tom Pauken dropped out of the race due to lack of money, there is not an expectation of any major changes. Mackowiak said, "We pretty much feel like the field is set for all the different state-wide offices."

Mackowiak observed Pauken's campaign was not ever thought to have a chance for success. He believes since Wendy Davis entered the race, Pauken struggled against the focus on the efforts to beat Davis.
