Construction on the eastbound Marsha Sharp Freeway bridge deck at Milwaukee Avenue originally scheduled for May 27, has been rescheduled for the overnight hours of June 1 due to expected rain.

Concrete work to pour the westbound Marsha Sharp Freeway bridge deck has been rescheduled for June 4 overnight.

North and southbound Milwaukee Avenue at the Marsha Sharp Freeway will be closed to traffic beginning at 9 p.m. both nights, with roads reopening at 6 a.m. the following mornings.

Northbound Milwaukee Avenue traffic will be detoured east to Loop 289 where drivers may use the turnarounds to return to Milwaukee to continue north. Southbound Milwaukee will be detoured west on Marsha Sharp Freeway to Upland Avenue.

The Marsha Sharp Freeway main lanes will be reduced to one lane of travel in each direction during construction. Work is scheduled to take place weather permitting.
