Mark Blankenship Appointed to Lubbock ISD School Board

A local attorney has been appointed to fill an unexpired term on the Lubbock ISD School Board.

Mark Blankenship has been chosen to serve out the remaining time on the District 3 Board of Trustees seat left by Chris Comer, who accepted a banking position in Midland.

“At the conclusion of the interviews, Mark’s knowledge of the school district and his experience as a volunteer set him apart,” said School Board President James Arnold.

Blankenship has three children in the district, and is a managing partner of the law firm Crenshaw, Dupree, and Milam.

He will likely be sworn in at the next Board of Trustees meeting on January 26^th. Blankenship plans to run in the May 2012 special election for the seat.
