On Monday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the Republican debate which took place this past Saturday night (February 13, 2016).

Mackowiak mentioned the contentious tone of the debate and the effect the audience had on the presentation.

"That was a crazy debate. I mean, the back and forth, the attacks, the crowd was very engaged," said Mackowiak. "And honestly, I thought [the crowd] was engaged too much. They were too loud, clapping and booing. I'm at the point now where I think maybe just doing it in a static TV studio may be better for the audience."

Among the many aspects of the debate, Mackowiak talked about accusations made by Donald Trump against President George W. Bush. 4

Trump argued that Bush knew in advance about the World Trade Center terror attacks in September 2001, and he placed the blame for the attacks upon Bush's shoulders.

"This, to me, veered into conspiracy-theory land," he said. "I mean, the comments he was making were no different than something Michael Moore would say, or Noam Chomsky, or any number of far-left, uber-liberals. And so I think that, attacking the Bushes in South Carolina is not a smart strategic play, and I think it will hurt Trump. The question is, does it hurt him enough to make it a competitive race in South Carolina?"
