The City of Lubbock’s municipal pools will open next week.

Pools will open for the 2013 season on Tuesday, June 4th at 1 p.m.

Hours of operation are Tuesdays through Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. Entrance fees are $2 for those ages 17 and under and $2.50 for adults. Group rates are available for groups of 35 or more.

Pool rentals are also available for parties Thursday through Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. by calling 775-2673.

Lubbock has four municipal pools. They are:

  • Clapp Pool, 46th Street and Avenue U: Includes a 90’ water slide, concession stand, lifeguards, showers, diving boards, and shade umbrellas. Their phone number is 767-2736.
  • Mae Simmons Pool, 24th Street and MLK: Includes a 90’ water slide, concession stand, lifeguards, showers, diving board, and shade umbrellas. The phone number for Mae Simmons Pool is 767-2732.
  • Maxey Pool, 4007 30th Street: Includes a concession stand, lifeguards, showers, diving boards, shade umbrellas, and shade trees. Their phone number is 767-3739.
  • Montelongo Pool, 3200 Bates Street: Includes a 90’ water slide, concession stand, lifeguards, showers, diving boards, shade umbrellas, a separate wading pool, and zero depth entry into the main pool. Montelongo Pool’s phone number is 767-2734.

Summer Splash Passes are available at the City’s Parks and Recreation Office at 1611 10th Street. A family splash pass costs $150 for a family of four and is usable all summer. An individual splash pass costs $65 for children and $90 for adults, and is good all summer as well.

A 30-day splash pass costs $45 for children and $60 for adults, and a 7-day splash pass is $10 for children and $14 for adults. The Parks and Recreation office phone number is 775-2673.
