A Lubbock ISD middle school assistant principal has received an award.

Lori Stephens, assistant principal of Evans Middle School, has been selected as the Region 17 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.

School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon performance and leadership.

As the Region 17 winner, Stephens is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Assistant Principal of the Year.

“Lori is a positive and energetic person who always has the best interest of our students at heart,” said Flo Touchstone, principal at Evans Middle School.

The regional winners will be recognized next June.
