On Thursday the Lubbock City Council could decide the fate of Tent City. Tent City is run by Link Ministries and there are currently about 25 or so tents that are on the property. In September, the Planning and Zoning commission voted 7-0 not to allow the land where Tent City is located to be rezoned as a homeless shelter. Link Ministries has appealed the decision and now waits for the City Council to vote.

I appears as though a majority of the council wants to vote to allow Link Ministries 6 months to give advocates a chance to workout a solution, like a permanent shelter. Is this the right move?  Will anything happen within 6 months?
