Lubbock Business Owner Sentenced for False Tax Return

A Lubbock business owner has been sentenced for filing a fraudulent income tax return.
Richard Salinas, owner of All Quote Insurance in Lubbock, was sentenced Friday morning to six months in federal prison.
He was also ordered to pay $11,475 in restitution, following his guilty plea entered in April of this year.
According to court documents, Salinas under-reported his taxable income for tax year 2008, resulting in a loss of $11,475 to the Internal Revenue Service.
He claimed false wage expenses, which he knew would decrease his tax liability, and created false W-2 forms.
Salinas will surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on August 17th, 2012.
