Local Blogger, Clif Burnett, Found Dead

A local blogger with a penchant for open records requests has passed away. Clif Burnett was found dead at his residence by authorities. He passed away of natural causes.

Burnett had a contentious relationship with many local elected officials, law enforcement agencies and Lubbock media outlets.  He was a frequent critic of local media outlets coverage of city and county governments.

Burnett was arrested at Lubbock City Hall last November after being banned from City of Lubbock and Lubbock County public meetings in 2011. The ban came after Burnett published violent fiction aimed at City of Lubbock and Lubbock County elected officials.
