On the Friday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, KFYO News's Matt Crow spoke with Chad Hasty about Dr. Donald May and his campaign against Congressman Randy Neuegbauer.

Yesterday, May made his official announcement that he will be running for the 19th Congressional District against Neugebauer, the incumbent, in next year's GOP primary election. Crow was present at yesterday's announcement, and said that May gave the impression of being a much more active conservative fighter and spoke often about fighting back against Obamacare and overreaching government.

However, Crow added that at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much that differentiates May from Neugebauer's policies.

"I asked Don point blank during the question and answer session what are the two or three things that separate yourself form your opponent in this primary. Don, I have to say, took the high road, and didn't specify exactly what differentiates him form Randy's policies. I think the voters are going to want to know that going into the primary. But Don took a more broad-based, general view that simply casting a conservative vote...isn't enough."

Crow noted that more and more people are wanting their representative to take a more active role in Congress and speak out more, like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul. But he also pointed out that most of the real work in Congress is actually done "in the trenches," behind the scenes and away from the cameras. He also added that he felt May's supporters weren't out , but that they simply wanted to see their Congressman take a more active role.
