Councilwoman Karen Gibson addressed stormwater rates with KFYO's Tom and Laura Tuesday morning (March 3), inviting the public to provide "viable ideas" to help solve problems.

"What I want to do is try to work through some of problems and work towards some solutions" concerning the storm water rates that Lubbock has implemented, said Gibson.

Gibson will be holding two meetings next week and is asking Lubbockites to bring forth any ideas they might have.

"These ideas sound really good when you throw them out there, but will they work on paper? You never know what might work," said Gibson. "I'm certainly not opposed to taking any ideas back to the city if it's a viable idea."

Gibson's stormwater rate meetings will be held Monday (March 9) and Tuesday (March 10) at Lakeridge United Methodist Church 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to the public.
