Governor Rick Perry has appointed John B. Walker of Houston to the Texas Tech University Board of Regents.

Walker is currently the president and CEO of EnerVest Ltd and a member of the national petroleum council. He also serves as an advisory board member of the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business. He received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.

Walker has been appointed to replace Regent John Huffaker of Amarillo. Huffaker is resigning to take advantage of other business opportunities.

“This is a great appointment,” said Texas Tech University System Chancellor Kent Hance.  “John Walker was the Student Government Association president while he was on campus.  He loves Texas Tech and has been one of our most generous donors.”
