State Representative Jim Landtroop (R- Plainview) today received two endorsements in his race for the GOP nomination for the reconfigured Texas House District 88.

The endorsements came from the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association.

NRA-ILA State Liaison Tara Mica talked about why they endorsed Landtroop, "NRA's Political Victory Fund is proud to endorse State Representative Jim Landtroop for re-election to the Texas House.  As a fellow NRA member and Concealed Handgun Licensee, Jim Landtroop knows firsthand the importance of protecting the Second Amendment and preserving our right to self-defense.  And his record in the Texas House demonstrates his strong commitment to both."

"I am proud to have the support and endorsement of the NRA and TSRA. These organizations have stood on the front line fighting for one of our most fundamental rights as Americans  - the right to own a firearm. With leaders in DC fundamentally opposed to this freedom, we must stand with the NRA and TSRA in our effort to keep Texas citizens free to exercise their 2nd Amendment right," Landtroop said.

Rep. Landtroop is being challenged by Ken King (Canadian), Mac Smith (Pampa) and Gary Walker (Plains) in the Republican Primary.
