A heroin trafficker has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

41-year-old Fernando Salgado Martinez received the 120-month sentence, following his December 2011 guilty plea to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin.

According to court documents, Martinez was pulled over on October 11th, 2011 for speeding on Interstate 40 in Carson County, Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper obtained consent to search the vehicle, and found 22 kilograms of heroin hidden in a compartment in the vehicle.

U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson handed down the sentence Wednesday.
