Governor Greg Abbott has appointed a Lubbock native to the Continuing Advisory Committee for Special Education in Austin for a term that lasts until February 1st, 2021..

Robin H. Lock of Lubbock is a vice dean for the College of Education and professor in the College of Education Special Education program at Texas Tech University. She is a member of the Special Education Information Center State Advisory Board and Learning Outcomes Project Education Faculty Workgroup for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Lock was chosen along with 16 others to the committee that provides policy guidance on special education and related services for children with disabilities in Texas.

The other appointees are Shemica S. Allen, Teresa A. Bronsky, Jo Ann Gama, Stephanie Y. Martinez, Jana C. McKelvey, Kristen K. Tassin and reappointed Erin S. Wilder to the Continuing Advisory Committee for Special Education for terms set to expire on February 1, 2019.

Governor Greg Abbott also appointed Karen W. Beasley, Elizabeth A. Donaldson, Rachel A. Dreiling, Kristine H. Mohajer, Agata K. Thibodeaux, and Jo Ann Garza Wofford and reappointed Jana S. Burns, Julia Wesley Erwin, and Laurie Goforth Rodriguez for terms set to expire on February 1, 2021.
