Gas prices in the Hub City and Texas fall to end the month of May.

According to the weekly KFYO News Gas Price Survey, the average retail price for fuel in Lubbock is $3.24 per gallon, a drop of seven cents from last week’s survey.

Prices in the Lone Star State fell also. According to AAA Texas the average price fell four cents to $3.39 per gallon. The lowest average price for fuel in Texas is currently in Corpus Christi at $3.30 while the Dallas-Fort Worth area has the highest average at $3.62 per gallon.

AAA reports that an estimated 2.5 million Texans traveled this past Memorial Day weekend. That number is an increase of 2.4 percent from 2012.

Nationally, the average retail price for fuel is $3.62 per gallon, a decrease of four cents from last week’s survey.
