Former Slaton Police Officer Charged with Possessing Child Pornography

A former Slaton police officer is out on bail after being charged with possessing child pornography.

50-year-old Richard Lee "Rick" Lewis turned himself in to federal authorities yesterday, after investigators seized three computers, 80 CDs, and 10 VHS tapes from his residence on May 11^th.

Lewis resigned from the Slaton police department the next day. He has admitted to downloading and viewing the illicit images.

Lewis had worked for the Slaton Police for about 10 years.
