On Tuesday, fires in Swisher County and Sundown forced evacuations as firefighters battled the blazes.
NewsChannel 10 in Amarillo reported more than 1,100 structures were threatened by the fire in Swisher County. Firefighters from at least seven different departments, along with air tankers, were able to contain the blaze. Meanwhile, in Sundown, no major damage occurred as firefighters were able to contain a wildfire south of town. No injuries were reported with either fire.
In the video at the beginning of this story, Connie Garza, on Facebook, took video of the fire near Sundown showing some of the size of the blaze.
