A highway traffic stop near Conway on I-40 has led to the arrest of a California woman after a DPS officer discovered 50 pounds of marijuana in her vehicle.

The DPS reports that at approximately 9:52 a.m. yesterday morning  a Ford F-350 pickup traveling eastbound on I-40 was for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

The driver of the pickup was identified as 57-year-old Suzanne Joan Mayner of Fort Bragg, CA.

During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered seven bundles of marijuana in the vehicle.

Mayner was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The marijuana was allegedly being transported from California to South Carolina.
