Over 11 years after vanishing without a trace, the European Space Agency's Mars probe Beagle 2 has been found.

The lander was to touch down on Mars Christmas Day 2003, but the mission was officially declared lost in February 2004 after a long period of unsuccessful attempts to reestablish communications.

Beagle 2 was located by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter earlier this month just over three miles from its intended landing site.

The Telegraph has more about this amazing discovery, and the possible reasons behind Beagle 2's disappearance.
