A new co-chairwoman has been appointed for a Lubbock committee.

The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce’s “Imagine Lubbock Together” Visioning committee has appointed Connie Wharton to service as co-chairwoman following the resignation of former co-chair Michael Shonrock.

Shonrock resigned after taking a position as president of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.

Wharton is part of Mulcahy Wharton Business Consulting, and is a long-time Lubbock resident.

“Creating a cohesive community vision will help to ensure the responsible, smart, prudent use of Lubbock’s assets and resources as we face the future,” said Committee co-chairman David Seim.

The Imagine Lubbock Together Committee is charged with helping Lubbock to grow while still maintaining strong economic conditions.
