On Monday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer talked with Rex and guest host Cole Shooter about the latest goings-on in Washington.

When asked about wasteful spending, Neugebauer said that Congress should spend a little ore time focusing on oversight as opposed to legislation, and that this administration should be held responsible for what's going on, and stop trying to blame others

Neugebauer also fired back at a comment made by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who said that Republicans were rooting for economic failure. Neugebauer said that the Republicans have actually brought solutions for the economic problems forward, but the Democrats have done nothing about them.

"This president keeps wanting to do the same thing that hasn't worked. He wants to spend more of our money, more stimulus money, that hasn't worked."

Neugebauer also spoke briefly on the Trayvon Martin shooting and first amendment rights for members of the armed forces. He also took several listener calls concerning Egypt, and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae investments.

You can listen to Congressman Randy Neugebauer Mondays at 7:35 during Lubbock's First News.
