In an interview on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Rep. Randy Neugebauer said that in the debt ceiling negotiations, everything has to be on the table, including agriculture.

“Yes, farm programs, nutrition programs, education programs, even defense programs -- they’ll all have to be looked at,” Neugebauer said.  “So what we’re going to have to do is what we should have been doing all along.  That is prioritizing how we spend the taxpayers’ money, and also learning to spend the money that we actually have and not money that we have to borrow.

As a result, Neugebauer said, ag programs in the future will be different.
