On Friday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Chuck DeVore, vice president for policy at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, joined Chad to talk about tax reduction legislation.

DeVore said the main debate centers on reductions in either margins (business) taxes, sales tax, or homestead exemptions. Asked by Hasty what the chances are of all three taxes being reduced, DeVore said,

There's a possibility... but if they were to do that, they would have to increase the size of the tax cut total by about fifty percent, and that's a heavy lift, though we'd like to see it. What our main concern is, is let's just keep the total tax cut no smaller than the House's roughly 4.9 billion dollars.

Also discussed were transportation funding issues and red light cameras.
