District 28 Senator Charles Perry joined The Chad Hasty Show Thursday morning to talk about the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, as well as the many changes being implemented in the Texas senate.

Among those changes is modifying the 2/3rds rule for bringing legislation to the Senate floor for debate. Perry said:

We still have a super-majority requirement to basically get a bill heard. So [there is] still some protection in the system, but it was a system that had been abused, and abused in obstructionist form for the last several sessions.

Also discussed by Perry were end-of-life care, education, criminal justice and the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Perry addressed abortion with the following statement:

Today unfortunately is the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. I think it's one of the saddest days in our country, actually. 18.2 percent of our current U.S. population has been aborted. Put that out there to create perspective as to what we've created. Everybody needs to remember those lost souls, and the hurt that that's caused. Well, they're not lost, the good Lord took them in because he takes care of His kids.
