Buddy Holly Center’s Summer Shocase to Feature Amanda Shires Thursday

The Buddy Holly Center’s Summer Showcase continues today with a free performance by popular fiddler Amanda Shires, co-founder of the local band Thriftstore Cowboys.

Shires, born and raised in Lubbock, will be playing solo work from her album Carrying Lightning. Shires has received high acclaim for both her lyrical poetry and fiddling skills. Although here beginnings were in Lubbock, she’s now based out of Nashville, Tennessee and is working on a music video for her song Carrying Lightning.

The concert will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Meadows Courtyard. Admission is free and a cash bar will be available.
