AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Three firefighters have been hurt in a blaze at an Austin condominium complex.

Authorities say the fire broke out about 7:30 a.m. Sunday on the city's west side. The three firefighters were injured when they were trapped as part of the structure collapsed.

They were treated at the scene, then taken to a hospital where they're listed in good condition for treatment of second-degree burns.

Battalion Chief Palmer Buck says the blaze spread rapidly after the department received an initial call about a transformer explosion.

He says as many as 30 residents have been displaced. The blaze remains under investigation.
