Art Heals Creative Expo to be Featured at First Friday Art Trail

An area art exhibit will bring awareness of a common and potentially deadly illness using their art work.
The second annual Art Heals Creative Expo will be featured at Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail. The exhibit will run from 6 to 9 p.m. November 4th. at the Christine Devitt IceHouse in the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts.
The exhibit will feature artwork by the community and those affected by all forms of cancer. Shoes and boots from celebrities will also be featured, as the original theme of the event used high-heeled shoes to represent the number of people affected by cancer.
Dr. Robert Casanova, a Texas Tech physician, discussed the significance of the event, saying “The hope is visitors will walk away with a sense of how cancer touches so many lives and in the process take steps to be aware about prevention and treatment of the disease.”
The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts is located at 502 Avenue J.
