Ambassador Tibor Nagy Jr. Talks About Scotland’s Independence Vote and the Middle East on Lubbock’s First News [AUDIO]
Ambassador Tibor Nagy Jr., Vice Provost of International Affairs at Texas Tech University joined Tom Collins and Laura Mac on Lubbock's first News on Friday to talk about current events in the world.
Yesterday, Scotland voted to reject a bid for independence from the United Kingdom. Nagy talked about how the U.K. is moving more in a decentralized direction, in contrast to the current direction of the United States.
"In the United States, on the other hand, it seems like it's going in the other direction, whereas more and more power is evolving towards Washington, and away from the local communities, which I don't think is a healthy trend", Nagy said.
The Ambassador also talked about ISIS and current events in the Middle East, as well as the arrests in Australia of terrorists who were planning attacks on random civilians.
