Friday (June 23), New Mexico State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash that left one person dead.

KAMC News reports, the accident was on US 62/180, 26 miles west of Hobbs, New Mexico. Police say a vehicle was driving westbound, excited the roadway and rolled. One of the passengers, 14 year-old Abigail Gutierrez of Lubbock, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Gutierrez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

All other occupants in the vehicle were taken to Lea Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
