4th on Broadway Events for July 3rd & 4th

This year's 4th on Broadway Celebration gets underway later tonight in downtown Lubbock.

Tonight at 7:30p, the Lubbock Apartment Association Street Dance takes place at Broadway & Texas Avenue. This year's Street Dance features William Clark Green and Hat Trick and the Casey Donahew Band.  If you didn't buy your tickets beforehand, you can buy tickets at the gate.

Tomorrow, 4th on Broadway continues with the opening of the Wells Fargo Street Fair at 8am.  Then the McDougal Companies Parade gets under way at 9am.  After the conclusion of the parade, the Wells Fargo Street Fair will run through 5:30p. At 11a the annual UMC Early Settler’s Luncheon will take place at Broadway Church of Christ.  Also, from 11a to 5:30p the Covenant Kids Area & College Baseball Hall of Fame FanFest will take place at the First Baptist Church-East Parking Lot.

This year's Gandy's Fireworks Extravaganza and PlainsCapital Bank Evening Concert have been canceled due to this year's extreme drought and the danger wildfire at Mackenzie Park.

For the 4th on Broadway event, Broadway Avenue will be closed all day Monday between University Avenue to Avenue Q.
