Inductees for the 2011 Texas Tech Athletic Hall of Fame class have been announced.

The former student-athletes to be inducted into the Hall of Fame are softball player Sandy Butler, men’s basketball player Richard Little, baseball player Shane Wright, and football players Larry Gilbert, Brad Hastings, and Jim Sides.

The Hall of Fame Banquet will be held Friday, October 2nd, during the Texas Tech – Texas A&M football weekend. The induction this year marks the fourth year of the separation of the Texas Tech Athletic Hall of Honor and the Texas Tech Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame recognizes those athletes who made significant non-financial contributions to Tech Athletics. The Hall of Legacy honors individuals and corporations who provided extraordinary financial support to the University’s athletic programs.

The new additions to the Hall of Fame will raise the number of inductees to 163 for both Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor since its inception in 1961.

The induction banquet will take place October 2nd at 6 p.m. in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall.
