Cub Scouts are back for the 2018-2019 school year and this year there are some changes that could be good for families.

The South Plains Council is excited to welcome both boys and girls into Cub Scouting," said Scout Executive Nathan Baie. "After all, the values of Scouting - being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent - are important and relevant to every child as they grow into responsible adults.

Some of the changes coming include Cub Scout Packs being co-ed while individuals dens will still be all boys or all girls.

They will be placing a large emphasis on service programs and STEM this year beginning with a rocket launch.

Anyone interested in joining scouts this year can go to any Lubbock ISD, Cooper or Frenship ISD school on Thursday, September 13th at 7 pm for more details.
