Winter Weather Alert: Portions of Texas Could See Snow This Weekend
Winter isn't over yet in Texas, and this week has already been a crazy week of weather. From dust storms to possible tornadoes, temperatures warm and cold, we have seen just about everything this week.
Fortunately, the rest of the week looks pretty nice weather-wise with temperatures getting back into the 60's and 70's by the end of the week. On Saturday though, Texans will see another change in the weather, and some will see big changes.
Snow and Rain Chances Increase for Saturday in Parts of Texas
A front is expected to make things cooler in Texas on Saturday and for some, it will be cold and a chance of snow is currently in the forecast.
As of Tuesday, snow chances look very good for those in the Texas panhandle where the high temperature on Saturday in Amarillo is only expected to reach 38 degrees and there is currently an 88% chance of snow.
In Lubbock, Accuweather is showing a high in the 50's but snow is possible in the morning before it changes over into rain. As of today, the Lubbock area has a 60% chance of moisture on Saturday. But forecasts aren't set in stone and the National Weather Service right now is forecasting Lubbock with a high in the 40's and only a 37% chance of rain.
In Dallas-Fort Worth, high temperatures are expected to be in the 50's with rain possible. High's will be in the 60's in the Houston area with a chance of rain as well. Temperatures in the Abilene area are expected to be in the upper 40's with sunny skies.
Of course, forecasts could change, but just because the weather has felt like Spring lately, that doesn't mean winter is done with Texas just yet.
