The Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) announced an expansion of United Supermarkets operations in Lubbock on Wednesday. United's expansion will add 190 new jobs locally over the next couple of years.

The additional positions are set to include back office support, IT support, warehouse and transportation staff and more. The new jobs will result in $7.2 million in annual salaries. United is also set to add 200,000 square feet to their current Lubbock distribution site, a $33.7 million capital investment.

In its 99th year of operation, United Supermarkets, LLC – d.b.a. The United Family® – is a Lubbock, Texas-based grocery chain with stores in 36 communities in West Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth and New Mexico. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Albertson’s LLC.
