University Medical Center is no longer allowing visitors for their hospital patients in an effort to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
A few exceptions to the new rule include adult family members for end-of-life patients. Additionally, one parent for pediatric patients under the age of 17 will be allowed, as will a coach or partner for patients at the Family Birth Center.
Anyone who is eligible to visit must be in good health and symptom-free. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed into UMC for the time being.
All visitors and employees will have their temperature checked before entering the hospital. It's not clear how long the new visitor policy will be in place.
