Texas Politician Proposes Adding Trump on the $100 Bill
What do you think? Should President Trump replace Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill? Well, it turns out that this is more than just a passing thought for some as one Texas politician introduced a new measure that would do just that.
How Could Trump be on the $100 Bill?
Good question. You see, it all starts with the Golden Age Act of 2025 introduced by Texas State Rep. Brandon Gill.
The bill proposes that all $100 bills feature a picture of President Trump instead of Benjamin Franklin. Rep. Gill stated, in a press release, that Trump could be enjoying his later years with family or out on the range, but instead he's choosing to be President of the United States.
There has been no one who has done more to bring America into the golden age than President Trump. Featuring him on the $100 bill is a small way to honor all he will accomplish these next four years.
Rep. Gill also took to X in a post with a draft of the new proposed $100 bill:
If this bill should pass, it would take into effect after Trump's current term. So, all $100 bills would feature Trump's face beginning on December 31, 2028.
Why this is Significant
The reason why this is a big deal is because the last time a federal reserve note (dollar bill) was modified was way back in 1929 when President Andrew Jackson replaced former President Grover Cleveland on the $20 bill.
Currently, the faces on each bill include the following:
- $1 - George Washington
- $2 - Thomas Jefferson
- $5 - Abraham Lincoln
- $10 - Alexander Hamilton
- $20 - Andrew Jackson
- $50 - Ulysses S. Grant
- $100 - Benjamin Franklin
One last thing. It's actually against federal law to have a living person's face on any U.S. currency. But hey, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, I guess.
