Not that you would ever need an excuse to have a burger, but today you officially have a reason to stop by your favorite burger place. May 28 is National Burger Day, a day in which we get to celebrate one of our oldest favorite foods. According to IBTimes.com, the modern burger appeared in World War I and the oldest burger chain in America is White Castle. White Castle opened 93 years ago in Wichita, Kansas.

While we may not have a White Castle in Lubbock, we do have some great places to get a burger. A few of my favorite burger places in Lubbock are Blue Sky, Whataburger (this should be a favorite of all Texans), and Christakis on 34th Street.

Besides the grill in your backyard, where is your favorite burger place?
