TikTok Challenge Leads to Stolen Car and Arrest in Lubbock
A Lubbock woman was arrested after she drove off in a stranger's car for what she says was a "TikTok challenge."
KAMC News reports that the victim had parked their car by a pump at a gas station near 82nd Street and I-27. This was on Thursday, November 17th.
They went inside to pay for gas, and that's when the unnamed suspect, who was at a different pump, got into the victim's car and drove off. The victim went outside and watched the suspect drive away, but she later came back.
Upon returning, it's said the victim pulled the woman from the car and threw her to the ground. Employees were notified of the scuffle outside and contacted law enforcement.
On arrival, the suspect told police that what she did as only a prank, part of a TikTok challenge. She was arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. She has since posted bond and remains free while the criminal charge is pending.
