Thursday afternoon, Lubbock native Tiger Pratt formally announced his candidacy for Lubbock City Council District 2.

Pratt declared his candidacy at a news conference held at the Charles Adams gallery in downtown Lubbock. Floyd Price, who currently sits at the head of District 2, will not run for re-election after 12 years in office.

A small business owner, Pratt vows to provide effective and balanced leadership through the development and implementation of plans aimed at removing barriers and obstacles along the path for citizens of North and East Lubbock.

After officially announcing his candidacy, Pratt said: "Public service and the opportunity to enact real change in our community is something I feel called to do. I look forward to rallying the citizens of District 2 over the next several weeks so that we may project a clear vision not only for the district, but the entire city of Lubbock."
