Three people were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday, Nov. 10th, in Nolan County. KAMC News reports the crash occurred at about 7 p.m. along Highway 153 near Turkey Ranch just south of Sweetwater.

It's reported that two sedans collided head on, killing two men and one woman. Texas DPS says the two sedans collided after one of them tried to pass an 18-wheeler in a no-passing zone.

The victims have been identified as 43-year-old Joan Palacios and 47-year-old Juan Palacios, both of Crosbyton, and 20-year-old Byran Isaac Pesina of Dale. The only person to survive the crash is 22-year-old Katerina Pesina of Crosbyton. She was severely injured and flown from the scene by helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Her current condition is unknown.

The Crosbyton Consolidated School District has confirmed that the three who died were family members of one of their students and were on their way back from the University Interscholastic League Cross Country State Meet in Austin.
