An early morning Killeen apartment fire has claimed the lives of three tenants. Firefighters said they found a fourth tenant that was unharmed by the blaze. None of the bodies found have been identified at this time.

KWTV-TV in Killeen reported that Fire Chief J.D. Gardner said just before 7 a.m. firefighters began a search of a downstairs apartment at Casa Tejas Apartments where they believe the fast-moving blaze started that then leveled the entire 24-unit, two-story complex.

Reports also said that tenants were jumping off the balconies of their two story complex to avoid the flames.

The fired was contained by 3a.m. this morning and 35 tenants were taken to a shelter.
