Fireworks are legal in Texas but just about every city and town in Texas has a ban on both setting off fireworks and possessing fireworks. There are also some counties that will have burn bans in place meaning setting off fireworks would be illegal in the entire county.
Fines can vary from city to city and if you set something, like a field or worse a house on fire, the punishment increases.
While it may be illegal to set off fireworks within city limits, we all know it happens. Police will respond to calls but don't expect them to show up quickly. They are going to deal with emergencies first.
